Pork Pie convoy finally arrives in Invercargill

A convoy of Minis has arrived in Invercargill as part of a nationwide road trip celebrating the film Pork Pie.

Invercargill features heavily in the reboot and is the final destination for cast and crew.

The city is commemorating the movie by renaming a central city area as Pork Pie Lane.

Vehicles and costumes from the shoot are also going on permanent display at Bill Richardson Transport World.

"We did a deal with the producer where we put some money into the movie and got some props from the movie to display in the Transport World," says Transport World director Scott O'Donnell.

"It's part of Invercargill's culture… so it's great to have something that's about the local area and is about motor vehicles."

There's also a photo opportunity for fans in a replica Mini from the 1981 original film Goodbye Pork Pie.
