Brittany Williams of Detroit is Instagram-famous for looking remarkably similar to pop star Beyonce.
The 20-year-old is being called the "$1 menu Beyonce", the "alternative Beyonce" and the "other Beyonce", with some commenters getting far more nasty.
Williams says people likening her to the 'Single Ladies' hitmaker started in junior high school, but she actually grew up idolising Aaliyah.
She says it's a coincidence that 'B', which she refers to herself as, is similar to 'Bey', which fans sometimes use when talking about Beyonce.
"I am the only 'B' of my kind. It's a confidence I feel that everyone should exude and feel," says Williams.
"I actually don't think we resemble [each other]. She is a beautiful woman and so am I. But at the end of the day, God created her to be her and me to be me, and I love being me."
Williams says she doesn't alter her look to appear more like Beyonce, often even going make-up free.
"Actually, I do not wear a lot of makeup. I hate to look drastically different from my natural self. I keep it simple," she says.
When asked what she'd say to Beyonce if she met her, Williams was much more positive than her haters.
"I would tell her that I appreciate how she uses music to express herself in the way the art was intended - freely with no reservation to our emotions," she says.
"I'm proud of this woman and I'm proud she reflects a different stigma of what it means to have the colour of my skin."
Beyonce herself is not yet reported to have passed comment on Williams.
