Caitlyn Jenner: 'Kris turned my life around'

Transgender reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner has moved to make amends for a memoir ex-wife Kris Jenner says made her "angry and disappointed" and painted her in a bad light.

In a clip released by E! teasing an upcoming episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kris said she'd "done nothing but open up my home and my heart to a person who doesn't give a sh*t".

Kris said her recently transitioned former husband had only one nice thing to say in the entire book, entitled The Secrets of My Life, and that was that she "was great socially at a party one time".

"None of it makes sense... Everything she says is all made up. Why does everything have to be that Kris is such a bitch and an asshole?" Kris can be heard complaining on the teaser.

However, during an appearance on US talk show Live with Kelly, Caitlyn appears to have tried to soften the blow of her revealing new book by describing Kris as "a great woman" who got her back out into the world after a time of seclusion.

Speaking to host Kelly Ripa, Caitlyn explained how Kris saved her after a "really difficult time" in the 1980s in which she spent "six years isolating myself from the world".

"She turned my life around, she really did. She got me back into work, she got me back working out, she did a lot of really good things," Caitlyn said.

"We wound up having two wonderful children, I picked up four more stepkids in my family - and so she changed my life around."

Earlier, Caitlyn had said that she had admitted to having struggles with gender identity while in the early stages of their relationship, and that Kris had expressed commitment to "working it out".

However, the nagging feeling never went away, and while Caitlyn claims Kris helped her out of a hole during a dark period of her life, she was never able to overcome the feeling she wanted to transition into a female.

"All these years, you still don't - you don't take like, two aspirin and get more sleep and it's over with [and] you're fine the next day."

Caitlyn came out as a trans woman in April 2015, revealing she'd suffered from gender dysphoria her entire life.
