Chinese acrobats on pointe in Britain's Got Talent

A super-flexible Chinese acrobat on pointe shoes has wowed audiences of television show Britain's Got Talent.

Liu Xin and her husband Gao Lin performed in auditions to Gabrielle Aplin's 'Power of Love'.

After beginning with a series of more standard lifts and turns, Liu - wearing ballet pointe shoes - lifted one leg behind her head, extending it as she lowered herself, leaving her grounded foot bent at a seemingly impossible angle.

The pair continued to impress with their effortless-looking routine of leaps and lifts, finishing with a move in which Liu performed an arabesque on Gao's shoulders in her pointe shoes.

Their performance left all the judges smiling, but they stopped short of sending the pair straight to the live final using the Golden Buzzer.

Liu and Gao previously appeared on Asia's Got Talent in 2015, when Gao got down on one knee and proposed to Liu live on stage after their performance.

Liu told the UK judges they came to perform on Britain's Got Talent because it was "the biggest and the best in the world".
