Star Wars fanatics now have a chance to be part of the universe they love, with a new charity campaign offering the opportunity to appear in the upcoming Han Solo film.

The Star Wars Force for Change campaign is raising money for Unicef and the Starlight Children's Foundation.

There are three prizes on offer:

  • A night and tour at Skywalker Ranch, the workplace of Star Wars mastermind George Lucas, as well as a look at the Star Wars archives and a private screening of A New Hope
  • A double pass to join the cast of the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi world premiere in Los Angeles
  • Visit the set of the untitled Han Solo spinoff film, with the chance to appear on screen as well as a meet-and-greet with directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller

Extra lucky punters could win all three experiences.

Would-be winners get a certain number of entries based on how much they donate to the campaign, as well as receiving other Star Wars merchandise.

The video announcing the competition features UK actress Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Mark Hamill who plays Luke Skywalker in the original trilogy and is reprising his role in the most recent and upcoming films.

The franchise is celebrating 40 years since the release of A New Hope in 1977.

In the video, Hamill says over that time, the fans have been "the best in the world".

"Now it's our chance to celebrate you."
