Ludacris lampooned for CGI abs in new video

US hip-hop artist Ludacris has made his return to the rap game after a two-year absence - but no one's talking about the music, or his new single's highly sexualised music video.

And that's because at the start of the video for 'Vitamin D (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)', Ludacris appears topless - well almost, except for the very obviously fake torso that has been super-imposed over his own.

The impressive abdominal and chest muscles that he's given himself are not even close to looking real - and critics have now ridiculed the rapper on Twitter for his perceived vanity.

Many of his detractors also noted that the poor-quality resolution of his CGI abs can be compared to early-2000s computer games like Sims 2, Fight Night 2004 and Grand Theft Auto, or those played on retro console Sega Dreamcast.

Others even used the lyrics of competing hip-hop artists against him - not least of all those from Kendrick Lamar's recent track 'Humble', in which he calls on women not to try and cover their imperfections.

However, not all the feedback has been bad - one Twitter user saw the bright side for Ludacris when he pointed out that the attention his new video might give his fledgling music career the kickstart it needs.

'Vitamin D' will be featured in Fast and Furious 8: The Fate of the Furious, the latest film in a long-running series that Ludacris stars in.

He has since responded to many of his critics' tweets, saying he "did a lot of sit-ups for that [body]".
