Student's love letter to an April night in Cuba (St)

An aspiring filmmaker has made another video paying tribute to the capital city, this time a 'love letter to Cuba Street'.

Caleb Williams, a commerce student at Victoria University, had a hit on his hands when he placed a disposable camera in a box labelled 'take a photo', and left it for Wellingtonians to snap themselves with.

Now he's taken back control of the camera himself, filming the sights and sounds of Cuba St.

Set to the song 'City of Stars' from the hit film La La Land, Mr Williams filmed a night on the eccentric street.

In a voiceover, he described that he wasn't exactly sure what he most liked about Cuba.

He paid homage to the diversity of the people and architecture, "saying where else can you go and be three in places at once".

Speaking to Newshub, Mr Williams said that he thinks that on Cuba St "everything tells a story".

"You can literally film everything, it's all captivating. The art culture, food culture, film culture."

He said the place is like a "sanction from diversity  you don't get that in Lower Hutt."

(Being from Lower Hutt, he's allowed to say that).

He says the thing that stands out most to him when he goes onto Cuba St is "how friendly everyone is  you talk to someone and they tell you all their stories".

The video ends with a twist, which you have to watch to find out.
