Will Smith is in talks for the role as the genie in Disney's remake of Aladdin, according to reports.
The Oscar-nominated Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star would be following in the footsteps of the late Robin Williams, who voiced the role for the original 1992 animated film.
Smith's take on the character would feature in Guy Ritchie's live-action remake, which is said to be actively avoiding white-washing the cast and keeping it racially diverse.
Disney is in the midst of a live-action remake frenzy, having applied the formula to their classics The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and Pete's Dragon.
The company is set to do the same with The Lion King, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Mulan, The Little Mermaid and Pocahontas in the coming years.
