BBC reporter denies deliberate boob grab

A BBC reporter has issued an explanation after he appeared to grab a woman's breast during a live interview, but some are calling for him to resign over the incident.

Ben Brown was speaking to assistant political editor Norman Smith about British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn when a woman walked purposefully into the shot.

After giving the camera a thumbs-up and a "absolutely fantastic" - likely in relation to Labour's manifesto launch in Bradford - Mr Smith asked if she would "just give us a second".

However Mr Brown was not willing to deal with her verbally, and instead tried to push her physically out of the shot - but his hand was planted firmly on her breast.

At the end of the live shot, Mr Brown apologised for the interruption - and later took to social media to say it wasn't deliberate.

"Unfortunate interruption of broadcast in Bradford - just tried to minimise disruption but v tricky live on air - completely unintentional," he wrote on Twitter.

Most Twitter users took his word for it - but others were less forgiving, describing his action as intentional sexual assault and calling for him to resign.

The BBC revealed to The Guardian that it wouldn't be taking any action on Mr Brown's breast grab as it was "clearly an accident".
