Tiki Taane reuniting with Salmonella Dub for 25th anniversary tour

Salmonella Dub are celebrating their 25th anniversary later this year with a set of special gigs featuring former member Tiki Taane.

The award-winning, multi-platinum 'For the Love of It' hitmakers kick things off at the Northern Bass festival in Mangawhai on New Year's Eve, before performing in Christchurch and Taupō.

Formed in 1992, Salmonella Dub pioneered New Zealand's take on the dub genre, and were highly influential to the drum and bass, reggae and roots scenes of Australiasia.

Taane joined the group in 1996 as its live mixer, later becoming a more central member as lead vocalist and guitarist.

He performed his last concert with the band on New Year's Eve, 2007, before leaving to focus on his solo career.

"To be able to help my old band mates celebrate 25 years of Salmonella Dub is a glorious prospect and probably a once in a lifetime occurrence," says Taane.

"I wouldn't have had the success as a solo artist and producer if it wasn't for my time with those guys. I learnt so much from being in that band to which I'm forever grateful for."
