Bachelor in Paradise investigation concludes sexual assault didn't happen

Bachelor in Paradise producers have concluded their investigation into an alleged sexual assault on-set, ruling contestant Corinne Olympios was not a victim as she had claimed.

The 24-year-old alleged she was too drunk to consent to sexual activity that occurred between her and DeMario Jackson in a pool after a day of drinking - an incident that was captured on camera and which Olympios said she had no memory of.

Warner Bros ceased production on the series as they investigated.

"As we previously stated, we recently became aware of allegations regarding an incident on the set of Bachelor in Paradise in Mexico. We take all such allegations seriously," says Warner Bros in a statement.

"Our internal investigation, conducted with the assistance of an outside law firm, has now been completed... Out of respect for the privacy interests of those involved, we do not intend to release the videotape of the incident. We can say, however, that the tape does not support any charge of misconduct by a cast member. Nor does the tape show, contrary to many press reports, that the safety of any cast member was ever in jeopardy."

Olympios hired a lawyer earlier this month and released a statement about the incident, calling it her "worst nightmare" for which she wanted to "obtain justice".

Jackson, 30, reportedly shared graphic details of what happened physically between the pair and demanded footage be released to clear him of wrongdoing.

While the video won't be released and Warner Bros will continue filming the series, the company says the incident has triggered changes.

"We plan to implement certain changes to the show's policies and procedures to enhance and further ensure the safety and security of all participants," the company says.

The latest season of Bachelor in Paradise was set to premiere on ABC in the US on August 8.
