Demi Lovato has offered up a simple explanation for why she's not performing at the star-studded benefit concernt Ariana Grande is holding for victims of the Manchester concert bombing.

The concert is set for this Sunday (local time), less than two weeks after a suicide bomb attack killed 22 people.

Grande will be joined by Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus and more for the One Love show at the city's Old Trafford Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Many were wondering why Demi Lovato wasn't one of the selected performers, after being one of the first to publicly tweet about the attack.

When Instagram user Whiteivato asked why Lovato wouldn't be performing when "she sent beautiful messages of support", Lovo was quick to respond.

In the comments, Demi left the simple answer: "Cause I wasn't asked."

This sent the rumour mill into overdrive in the comments, with many speculating over whether there was beef between the two performers.

But there clearly isn't, as Lovato today tweeted her love and support for the tribute concert, writing "We all need to do everything we can to support. #OneLoveManchester".
