NASA is calling out Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest health fad - a sticker that "rebalances the energy frequency in our bodies".

The actress' website, Goop, is promoting the "Body Vibes" stickers, claiming they use "space suit material" to give balance.

"Everyday stresses and anxiety can throw off our internal balance, depleting our energy reserves and weakening our immune systems," Goop says on its website.

"Body Vibes stickers (made with the same conductive carbon material NASA uses to line space suits so they can monitor an astronaut's vitals during wear) come pre-programmed to an ideal frequency, allowing them to target imbalances.

"While you're wearing them close to your heart, on your left shoulder or arm, they'll fill in the deficiencies in your reserves, creating a calming effect."

But a NASA representative told science review website Gizmodo space suits don't contain any carbon material lining, and even if they did it would be for durability, not to monitor frequencies.

"Wow, what a load of bullshit this is," NASA's former chief scientist Mark Shelhamer told Gizmodo.

Goop does not cite any peer-reviewed research to back its claim.

A 10-pack of the stickers costs around NZD$80.
