A Newshub sports presenter who named and shamed her husband on live television for forgetting their wedding anniversary has received a hilarious late gift.
Last month, Newshub Super Sport Sunday co-host Nicky used the 'Moments of the Week' segment to out her husband, former Blackcap Scott Styris.
"Thank you for remembering our special day. Oh, that's right - you didn't," she said in the clip that was widely shared online.
But the joke was on her, as the cricketer-turned-commentator had posted on Facebook before the segment aired with a video of a home-cooked dinner.
While Nicky says the dinner was "chewier than ever", it wasn't all Scott had cooking up - he also had a pair of sports leggings plastered with his grinning face on the way.
"Your wedding anniversary present has finally arrived... You're all set for the gym now!" Scott said, adding "#revenge".
Some would say it's better late than never, although Nicky didn't agree, replying simply with: "I feel ill".
Nicky says the couple have a relationship where "everything's a competition".
"I thought 'here's an opportunity to get him back'. But he must have been on to me."
