Celebrity builder John "Cocksy" Cocks has wed his girlfriend, Dana Coote, this weekend, after being given a terminal cancer diagnosis early last year.

Cocksy, 50, who starred on TV show My House, My Castle, has been with Ms Coote, 44, for about two years.

The ceremony took place at the local Tairua Community Hall in the Coromandel on Saturday, the same place where the builder is now building himself and his now-wife's dream home.

"Dana looked radiant ... Her dress was stunning and she was beaming," Cocksy told NZME.

Guests ate fresh seafood and sausages in bread.

Mr Cocks announced earlier this year he was ticking off his bucket list after developing cancer in his kidneys, which then spread to his lungs and spine. He has been given only two years to live.

Mr Cocks, who has been a builder for two decades, is well known on Kiwi screens from the shows April's Angels in 1998, My House, My Castle and Celebrity Treasure Island
