William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have been warmly received as they arrived in Germany - but it was their children Charlotte and George who stole the show.

The youngsters wore matching blue as they disembarked from their plane, with Prince George rubbing his eyes and looking "adorably grumpy" according to tabloids, who also claimed Princess Charlotte is "already beginning to master the art of international diplomacy".

Cameras caught the moment the two-year-old beamed as she accepted a miniature bouquet and curtsied. She even took time to smell the flowers

The Royals were met by the British ambassador and his wife, a German government representative, a deputy head of mission Nick Pickard, defence attaché Brigadier Rob Rider, and royal visit coordinator Peter Ruskin.
