Game of Thrones S07E04: Five fascinating things you might have missed

The latest episode of Game of Thrones had one of the most epic battles ever put to screen in it - it was so amazing, you might have missed some of the other fascinating moments in the episode.

Spoilers for Game of Thrones S07E04 follow.

In the latest episode, entitled The Spoils of War, we finally got to see a Dothraki horde and a dragon take to Lannister forces in Westeros.

We also got to see a super cool Arya versus Brienne sparring match and other cool stuff - but there were some deeply interesting call-backs in the episode too, along with one hilarious oddity.

1) CHAOS IS A LADDER

You may have forgotten one of Littlefinger's sinister speeches - the "Chaos is a Ladder" one he gave to Varys back in season three. It was all about how war and suffering in Westeros is a good thing, or something. Anyway, Bran repeating that line to Littlefinger makes him realise the young Stark's powers are real, and all of his awful deeds may be exposed.

2) JON SNOW IN CAVES

Jon Snow had an intimate moment with Daenerys Targaryen in a cave on Dragonstone, showing her some crappy old art drawn by kids to win her over. It worked. Previously, he went into a cave with Ygritte, his wildling lover, and something else important happened… Jon Snow is apparently very good in caves.

3) DAVOS QUOTING STANNIS

Did you notice that bit where Davos told Jon Snow to use the word "fewer" instead of "less"? He was quoting Stannis, who made the same grammar correction in season two - and then again in season five, both times in front of Davos, who is clearly a keen learner.

4) JAIME IN THE WATER

At the very end of the episode, you might have been reeling so much from all the excitement it brought that you didn't notice just how sheer the underwater drop Jaime fell down was. He was riding along the shore, then he was knocked underwater and looked to be sinking for ages. Hmmm.

5) JAIME IN THE WATER, AGAIN

Also, did you notice how reminiscent that scene was of Bran falling out the window? That end scene in the first episode of the first season was hugely important in kicking off everything that followed and may be Jaime's worst ever act - now, close to death himself, he's pictured looking very similar to how Bran did at that time. Oh and he also looked a bit like his brother Tyrion sinking into deep water one time.

Oh and of course Jaime's not dead - nobody is silly enough to think that, right?

What an amazing episode - I'm looking forward to seeing how they try and top it next week.
