Game of Thrones S07e04: Jason Momoa posts adorable message about epic battle

Jason Momoa took to Instagram with a heartfelt post about the latest Game of Thrones episode sure to make fans smile, days after he gushed about a group of traditional Maori performers.

The actor, who played Khal Drogo in the hit fantasy series, was complimentary of its recent, much-talked about battle scene, saying "holy sh*t that was intense".

Spoilers for Game of Thrones S07E04 follow.

In The Spoils of War, which was broadcast in New Zealand on Monday, Daenerys Targaryen leading a Dothraki horde and Drogon, her dragon, in a fierce assault on Lannister forces.

Khal Drogo, a Dothraki leader, was Targaryen's husband before his demise at the end of season one - and Momoa clearly still has feelings for Emilia Clarke, who portrays her onscreen.

"Miss you mama, you're a badass. [I'm] super proud," he wrote on the Instagram post.

"F**k me. It's been so hard for me not to talk about the greatest show on earth. And I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, so I have been taking it easy on the posts.

"But holy sh*t that was intense. Wish I was there to f**k shit up. So proud of [showrunners] Dan and David, the cast and crew."

Meanwhile, Momoa pleased Kiwi fans recently by posting a photo with a kapa haka group who helped him celebrate his 38th birthday.

He's currently in Australia filming Aquaman.

Momoa has visited New Zealand before, meeting fans at the Armageddon Expo in Hamilton in 2013.
