The first two acts of the 2018 St Jerome's Laneway Festival have been revealed as Mac DeMarco and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals.

After positive feedback on the Albert Park venue in 2017, the popular summer music festival will be held there again on Auckland Anniversary Day - Monday, January 29.

Canadian singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco, known by some as the king of slacker-rock, returns to the festival after being part of the 2015 line-up.

The festival describes securing Anderson Paak as a "major honour" as he is "one of the world's most exciting live acts". He collaborated with Dr Dre on his 2016 album, Compton, and is described as a genre-bending master.

Additional artists in the 2018 line-up will be announced on September 12.
