Robert Hardy, Harry Potter actor, dies at 91

British actor Robert Hardy has died at the age of 91.

Mr Hardy was known for his role as Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, in the Harry Potter movie franchise and as Siegfried Farnon in the long-running BBC TV series All Creatures Great and Small.

The BBC's Vincent Dowd said "with his memorable voice and presence, Mr Hardy had a long career".

The family of Mr Hardy said he had a tremendous life and giant career spanning more than 70 years.

Tributes have been paid online to the iconic British actor.

Author of the Harry Potter books, JK Rowling, wrote on Twitter, "So very sad to hear about Robert Hardy. He was such a talented actor and everybody who worked with him on Potter loved him."

He was also known for portraying Winston Churchill.
