Fergie and actor Josh Duhamel are breaking up after eight years of marriage.
The 42-year-old pop star and the 44-year-old actor, who have a four-year-old son, say the split is amicable and they've been keeping it quiet.
"With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year," the couple said in a joint statement.
"To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family."
Sources tell E! News the couple grew apart, with their "completely different lifestyles" to blame for the separation.
"Josh is very down-to-earth and a do-it-yourself kind of guy," an insider told the publication.
"He's out early in the morning every day doing normal things like going to the hardware store or taking [their son] Axl to breakfast. Fergie's in a totally different world."
In 2012, Duhamel told Oprah Winfrey in an interview that there was "no question" Fergie was the best thing that ever happened to him.
