US rock band the Foo Fighters are set to return to New Zealand shores to perform songs from their ninth album, Concrete and Gold, as part of a world tour.

The new record is set to be released next week, giving them five months to perfect their songs before reaching Kiwi shores.

Weezer will support the band for the tour, as well as local acts in each city as they travel New Zealand and Austalia.

As well as their new album, there's no doubt they'll play hits such as 'Everlong', 'Learn to Fly' and 'Best Of You' which helped them rack up 11 Grammy Awards.

The band ended their year-long hiatus in February, performing a surprise concert in the UK.

The stars will be performing at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium on February 3, 2018.

Presale tickets go on sale September 19, and to the general public on September 22.
