Seth Rogen is laughing off a conspiracy theory that puts him in cahoots with the CIA and former US president Barack Obama in an elaborate plot to end Kim Jong-un's reign of North Korea, in real life.

The Pineapple Express star co-wrote and acted in 2014 film The Interview, which centred on the fictional assassination of Kim Jong-un and is widely believed to have triggered a retaliatory hack attack on Sony.

However, Rogen is alleged to have genuinely tried to 'force' regime change in North Korea with help from Sony, the CIA and Obama, according to an article on Alternet that has been promoted by WikiLeaks.

"You guys, they blew my cover. The CIA is going to be so pissed," Rogen tweeted, including the WikiLeaks tweet to the conspiracy theory.

The article is written by Tim Shorrock, who tweets regularly about North Korea, promoting a diplomatic solution to the nuclear crisis.
