Steely Dan guitarist and bassist Walter Becker has died, aged 67.
The Hall-of-Famer founded the band in the early 1970s, and had worldwide success over the following decade with hits like 'Reelin' in the Years', 'Rikki Don't Lose that Number' and 'Do It Again'.
"Walter Becker was my friend, my writing partner and my bandmate since we met as students at Bard College in 1967," collaborator Donald Fagen wrote.
"He was smart as a whip, an excellent guitarist and a great songwriter. He was cynical about human nature, including his own, and hysterically funny."
After reforming in the 1990s, Steely Dan won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2000 for Two Against Nature, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
He died after battling an undiagnosed illness.
