Cast of Mean Girls reuniting to raise money for Las Vegas shooting victims

The cast of Mean Girls has reunited 13 years on to celebrate 'Mean Girls Day' in a very special fashion, asking fans to donate to the victims of the Las Vegas attack on Sunday (local time).

October 3 is known as 'Mean Girls Day' among devotees of Tina Fey's hit film, thanks to a scene where Aaron Samuels (played by Jonathan Bennett) asks Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) what day it is.

Now Samuels, Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Chabert), Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried) and Damian Leigh (Daniel Franzese) have joined forces once again.

The stars have established their own GoFundMe page, asking fans to donate as little as US$3, with the goal of reaching US$300,000 to go the National Compassion Fund. The organisation reportedly helps victims of mass-casualty crimes.

So far, US$45,080 has been raised for victims of the shooting at a country music festival on the weekend, where at least 59 were killed and over 500 were injured.

"Guys, look - we know fetch is never gonna happen," Chabert says in the video. "But we can make this happen."

"On October 3rd, I'll ask you what day it is," Bennett continued.

"But we'll also ask you to help," Chabert added.

"So you go, Glen Coco," Franzese chimed in, quoting one of the film's most iconic lines.

There was no sign of the film's star - Lohan - in the video.
