Harvey Weinstein taking 'belligerent' approach to sex rehab - report

Embattled film executive Harvey Weinstein has been treating his sex addiction rehab as a joke, according to an exclusive report by the New York Post.

The publication claims the former head honcho of the Weinstein Company - who was left disgraced after more than 50 allegations of sexual harassment and sexual assault - has been sleeping, arriving late to and speaking loudly on his phone during group therapy sessions.

Weinstein went immediately to rehab after an initial New York Times report exposed an allegedly extensive history of sexual misconduct. He admitted his actions "caused a lot of pain".

But an anonymous source says Weinstein doesn't appear to be taking his rehab seriously at all.

"In one group therapy session, Harvey arrived 15 minutes late. Then, when it was his turn to speak, he launched into a speech about how this is all a conspiracy against him," they told the New York Post.

"Harvey fell asleep in his chair. He was only woken up by the ringing of his smuggled mobile phone [which is banned at the facility]. Harvey jolted awake, jumped up, immediately took the call and then ran out of the room."

A source close to Weinstein admitted he does have his phone on him at the facility, despite it being banned. They say accounts of what happened in therapy are not true.

The source also says Weinstein is still standing strong in the face of myriad claims of rape and sexual assault.

"He insists he never raped or assaulted anyone, and that all the encounters were consensual.

"He realises he has acted like an assh**e, but he still insists he's not a rapist."
