Lorde rules the 2017 NZ Music Awards, claims six Tuis

Lorde has continued her reign as the country's favourite musician, taking home a whopping six trophies from the 2017 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards (VNZMAs).

The 21-year-old singer-songwriter claimed the Album of the Year for Melodrama, Single of the Year for 'Green Light', Best Solo Artist, Best Pop Artist, Vodafone People's Choice Award and International Achievement.

Lorde now has a total of 18 VNZMA trophies to go alongside her Grammys, Brit, MTV awards, Billboard Music Awards and other international honours.

She also performed 'Green Light' at the ceremony, which was held at Auckland's Spark Arena and broadcast live on Three.

Other major winners of the night included SWIDT (Best Group and Best Hip-Hop Artist) and Aldous Harding (Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Best Alternative Artist).
