Rampage trailer: Huge creatures, including Dwayne Johnson, cause mayhem

The first trailer for Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's upcoming videogame adaptation Rampage has been released.

Suitably, the video centres on a gorilla, alligator and wolf that are each humongous, after being genetically-modified, causing mayhem in an American city.

Rampage is based on the 1986 arcade game of the same name, which put players in control of the massive beasts, as they smashed stuff up and fought off pesky humans.

Johnson posted the trailer on Facebook with a message, reminiscing about playing the game as a "punk kid".

"I head up an anti-poaching unit out of Rwanda," the WWE legend said previously, of his character in the film.

"My best friend is a rare albino gorilla named George. Very bad people infect George, an alligator and a wolf with a serum.

"All three animals grow at an unprecedented rate. Their size, speed, agility and violent aggression is off the charts.

"They go on a deadly rampage and want to destroy the world."

It's not the first time Johnson has appeared in a videogame adaptation - he was also in the 2005 movie Doom.

Rampage is set to be released in cinemas in April 2018.
