Australian actress Rebel Wilson is the latest in a string of women to open up about sexual misconduct in Hollywood.

In a series of tweets on Saturday (local time) the Pitch Perfect actress claimed a "male star" in a "position of power" pushed her to go into a room alone with him.

The 37-year-old alleged the unnamed actor, who she didn't name, demanded that she perform a sex act on him while his friends filmed the incident on their phones.

"A male star, in a position of power asked me to go into a room with him and then asked me repeatedly to stick my finger up his ass. All whilst his male 'friends' tried to film the incident on their iPhones and laughed. I repeatedly said no and eventually got out of the room," Wilson wrote.

Wilson said she reported the incident and her lawyer made a complaint to the studio.

"Later I was threatened by one of the star's representatives to be nice and support the male star. I refused. The whole thing was disgusting. I've told hundreds of people in the industry the story in more graphic detail basically to warn them off this individual," she continued.

Wilson then detailed another incident which she says occurred early in her career; "a 'hotel room' encounter with a top director".

"I thought we were there to talk comedy. Nothing physical happened because the guy's wife called and started abusing him over the phone for sleeping with actresses, and luckily she was yelling so loud that I could hear her and I bolted out of there immediately," the actress recounted.

"I was so naive - the thought of anything happening apart from 'work talk' didn't even cross my mind."

A growing number of sexual misconduct allegations have been made against public figures in recent weeks. The allegations have been sparked by multiple women speaking out against the Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, and a subsequent campaign encouraging victims to share their stories of sexual harassment under the #metoo hashtag.

Stars Kevin Spacey and Louis CK are among those accused of misconduct.
