It's been almost two decades since the finale of '90s series The Nanny aired, but according to its star, a big comeback may be imminent.

The Nanny debuted in 1993 and told the story of Fran Fine, a make-up saleswoman who became a nanny to the three children of a wealthy English widower in New York City. The two fell in love, got married and in the final episode in 1999, have twins.

Creator Fran Drescher recently hinted that she'd be open to developing a reboot, as long as others in the cast were keen.

"As far as a reboot goes, I would be open to it if somebody wanted to do it," she told Closer Weekly.

"But if nobody wants to do it, then I'm currently trying to develop something else."

The 60-year-old star revealed that getting the word out shouldn't be too difficult, as she's still in contact with many former castmates.

"I am in touch, definitely," said the actress. "Renee Taylor (Sylvia Fine) is a good friend of mine, Charlie [Shaughnessy] (Maxwell Sheffield) is a good friend of mine. Recently I reconnected with Nicholle Tom (Maggie Sheffield), and periodically I speak to everyone, but I'm very good friends with Charlie and Renee, for sure."

Previously, Shaughnessy said a reboot isn't on the cards.

"The whole concept of The Nanny is a nanny to these three kids. When those three kids are all grown up, there is no need for a nanny," he told Radar Online earlier this year. "Other than getting a bunch of the same actors 20 years later and 20 years older together again,I don't know how it would work."

Drescher recently featured as a guest star in an episode of Broad City.
