Jay-Jay Harvey talks future plans and life changes

After 23 years at The Edge, veteran broadcaster Jay-Jay Harvey is calling time. On Sunday she told RadioLIVE's Your Sunday with Ryan Bridge that it comes at the end of a big year of change.

"I feel so mixed," she says of leaving the radio station where she spent half her life.

"I just feel like I need to do something new. Twenty-three years is a long time for anyone to do anything. I feel really emotional about it. I get really sad thinking about it.

"I'm scared I'm going to suck. I'm comfortable at The Edge."

Harvey reflects that part of the decision came from her breakup - the separation from her husband and morning radio co-host, Dom Harvey.

"It's hard for us to feel separated," Harvey says. "We see each other every day at work. We have our teenager together and the dog. It might make it easier for us to move on. That's what I want right now."

After an interesting experience with a caller on air on Sunday, Jay-Jay says she doesn't know if she can rule out talkback radio in her future.

"I better not say. I need to leave the door open just in case. I might need some more practice," she says, laughing.

Your Sunday with Ryan Bridge, 10am-2pm on RadioLIVE and streaming live to the Rova app on Android and iPhone.
