'Merry Christmas all you pussies galore' - Real Housewives star Anne Batley Burton debuts track 'Champagne Christmas'

If you've overplayed Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' and you're looking for a new festive tune, look no further.

Anne Batley Burton, star of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Auckland, debuted her new song 'Champagne Christmas' during Your Sunday with Ryan Bridge on RadioLIVE.

Batley Burton says the song is a fundraiser for the kittens at her personal cat sanctuary, but there are some lyrical gems for fans of the reality television show.

"What's so exciting about it, is [that it] was inspired through the Housewives show, and me in particular, so when you listen to the song we've got all my little sayings in there," she told Bridge.

"You know there's 'Come on cuddly bear'... and 'all you pussies galore, champagne lets pour some more!' So there's all those things there."

The Real Housewife says the song was written and performed by her friend 'Rock Chick' Vickie Loach, with Batley Burton's input of course.

"[Loach] wrote the song to raise funds for my cat foundation. So what we want is for people to come listen to the 'Champagne Christmas' song, get all inspired about looking after the stray pussies and de-sexing them and donate to the New Zealand Cat Foundation."

Stray cats have been a touchy topic this month, after the vicious stoning of a helpless kitten in Invercargill. Batley Burton told Bridge the act was "absolutely criminal".

"I can't understand why anybody in their right mind would want to do something so cruel."

She blamed the motivation for the attack on anti-cat crusader Gareth Morgan.

"What concerns me is that two people would see a cat and a helpless little kitten as pests, and in my opinion that is inspired by our friend Gareth Morgan of course who hates the cats.

"The public's perception of cats is changing."
