Aziz Ansari opted not to turn up at the 2018 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, which are being held a week after he was hit with sexual misconduct allegations.
The 34-year-old comedian was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in Master of None.
Ansari won the Golden Globe for the same category earlier this year, but lost the SAG to William H Macy (Shameless) - however, it's his absence from the ceremony that's causing a stir online.
According to some viewers and people at the awards, there was an awkward silence as Ansari's name was read out as a nominee.
Ansari's no-show comes after an anonymous 23-year-old woman gave a detailed account of a sexual encounter the pair shared together, which she describes as the worst night of her life.
He described their experience as "completely consensual", but added he "took her words to heart".
Fellow 2018 Golden Globe winner James Franco, who has also been accused of sexual misconduct this month, is reportedly at the SAG Awards.
