Social media slams Anna Wintour's fashion faux pas

Two Queens were seated next to each other at London fashion week, but there was a possible breach of royal protocol.

She's famous for her fashion prowess, but Conde Nast artistic director Anna Wintour has been slammed for her fashion faux pas when seated next to Queen Elizabeth on Tuesday (local time).

While Queen Elizabeth was attending her first such event, it was another regular day for Wintour. As per usual, she wore her signature blacked out sunglasses throughout the show - not the 'done thing' when speaking to the Queen.

Photos from the show sent the internet into a frenzy as people claimed a total lack of respect for the Queen.

"Anna Wintour looking ridiculous as usual - sunglasses indoors?! At least the Queen knows how to dress properly for any occasion."

Wintour has previously said that she wears the glasses to hide her emotions during a show.

"They are seriously useful. I can sit in a show and if I am bored out of my mind, nobody will notice," she said in an interview on 60 Minutes in 2009.

"At this point, they have become, really, armour."
