Johann Johannsson, the Icelandic composer behind the scores of The Theory of Everything and Sicario, has died in Berlin. He was 48.

Johannsson's manager Tim Husom confirmed the death on Saturday.

The cause of death has not yet been reported.

Johannsson was well-known for blending electronic sounds with classical orchestrations.

Johannsson won a Golden Globe for his score of 2015's The Theory of Everything, which was also nominated for Oscar, BAFTA, and Grammy awards.

He also worked frequently with director Denis Villeneuve, having composed for Prisoners, Sicario, and Arrival.

His score for Sicario also received Oscar and BAFTA nominations.

His score for Arrival received Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Grammy nominations.

He mostly worked as a music and sound consultant on Darren Aronofsky's movie, mother!
