Victoria 'Posh Spice' Beckham says the Spice Girls won't be going on tour after all.

Rumours of a reunion tour began last week when the five women got together for the first time in years at Geri 'Ginger Spice' Horner's home in Hertfordshire, UK.

After Beckham posted a photo of the group to social media, TMZ reported that they'd met to plan "a world tour that will kick off in late summer" 2018.

However, Beckham shot down the reports at a New York Fashion Week preview of her Autumn Winter 2018 collection.

"I'm not going on tour. The girls aren't going on tour," she told Vogue.

In addition to Beckham and Horner, the band was comprised of Emma 'Baby Spice' Bunton,  Mel 'Scary Spice' Brown and Melanie 'Sporty Spice' Chisholm.

The Spice Girls shot to fame in 1996 and were last seen together in 2012 at the premiere of West End musical Viva Forever!.

Beckham said that while a reunion tour is not on the cards, it was great to see her old friends for lunch.

"I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely."

And there is still some hope that something may be on the cards, with Beckham adding that the five women spent their lunch date "brainstorming".

"There's something so strong in the message of what the Spice Girls stood for," she told Vogue.

"What is that in the future? What does that look like? We were just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming."

With any luck, all this brainstorming might just result in a new project from the group.
