The winner of The Bachelor NZ 2017 says she was returning to Auckland from Mt Maunganui when she and her friends stopped for dinner on Dominion Road.
Viarni was shocked to find her passenger-seat window "smashed to smithereens" when they returned to the vehicle, with a number of items stolen.
"It's not a good feeling, it's kind of violating as well," Stuff reports Viarni as saying.
Among the items stolen was a pair of Linea Pitti sunglasses, which she hopes may help lead to the thieves being caught. However, her latest Instagram story suggests some followers weren't happy with her highlighting the fancy sunnies.
"Just to make it clear, my friend's whole bag was stolen and I posted about her rare sunglasses because I thought it might help us lead back to the thief and the rest of her items, including a laptop and other cherished items that were taken," says Viarni.
"Not only would it help her but it could prevent the thief acting out on other people. I obviously realise this happens to many other people every single day."
Viarni says the police had been informed of the incident.
