DJ Jacinda Ardern is back with her own playlist for New Zealand Music Month 2018.

In 2014 our Prime Minister graced the stage as a guest DJ at the Laneway Festival, where she played tracks by Sid Vicious, Snoop Dogg and the Smashing Pumpkins.

And now she has put together some of her favourite New Zealand tracks in conjunction with VICE and Sniffers, VICE reports.

"I know there's that old cliche that people use to describe their taste in music  'eclectic'. But when it comes to me and New Zealand music, it's really true," Ms Adern tells VICE.

The playlist features a mixture of songs from over the years, including recent hits from Lorde and Broods, along with a few Kiwi classic tunes from Dave Dobbyn, The Mutton Birds and Shapeshifter.

"It's all about memories… seeing Shihad play at the Wailing Bongo when I was a uni student; Don McGlashan capturing such an important moment in our history [with 'Anchor Me', his ode to the Rainbow Warrior]; living in London and hearing Dave Dobbyn open a war memorial for us on Hyde Park corner, or dancing into the night to Shapeshifter.

"They're all my home-grown memories. These are just a few of my favourites, and some of these artists I feel lucky enough to know."
