Katy Perry extends actual olive branch to Taylor Swift

The time of 'Bad Blood' is over, it seems, as one of the biggest celebrity beefs of our time has come to an end.

'Delicate' singer Taylor Swift took to Instagram to share a video of a package sent to her by fellow songstress Katy Perry, containing a hand-written letter and a real-life olive branch.

The pair have been embroiled in a well-publicised feud for several years, with many thinking Swift's song 'Bad Blood' is about their falling out over 'stealing' back-up dances for respective concerts.

Historically, the olive branch represents peace and reconciliation.

One fan has already managed to make out the words of the pictured letter, posting on Twitter that it reads: "Hello old friend... I've been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and hard feelings between us. I really want to clear the air... I'm deeply sorry for..."

"Thank you Katy," Swift captioned the video, adding: "You don't know how much this means to me."

Last summer, the 33-year-old 'Roar' singer opened up about her feud with Swift during a weekend-long livestream promoting her album.

"I am ready to let it go," Perry told Huffington Post editor Arianna Huffington.

"I forgive her and I'm sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her... I love her, and I want the best for her. And I think she's a fantastic songwriter."

Swift, 28, is about to step on stage for the first concert of her Reputation World Tour, which will stop off in New Zealand in November.
