A hotel that was due to host an attempt at the world's largest orgy has pulled out, saying it had no idea what the group had planned.

The event, Sin City 8, was booked in for June 2 at the Embassy Suites in Las Vegas. Organisers expected "1000-plus" to show up - more than doubling the current record of 500, set in Japan in 2007.

Sin City 8 also promised pool parties, sex workshops, a dungeon, toy demos and a "slut Olympics".

Somehow, this was news to the Embassy Suites.

"Guests of the group are welcome to stay at our hotel, but no events of any kind associated with Sin City 8 will take place at the Embassy Suites," a hotel representative told celebrity news site The Blast.

"When we became fully aware of the nature of the functions intended to be held at the hotel, we advised the group that the events were not consistent with the standards and environment we support and consequently will not be permitted to take place at our property."

Excited participants won't be left high and dry, however - the sold-out orgy is now planned to take place at the Erotic Heritage Museum, about a 10-minute drive away across town, and The Blast reports shuttle rides to and from the event have been organised.

No matter how successful Sin City 8 is, don't expect to read about it in next year's edition of Guinness World Records - the group doesn't recognise or keep track of the world's biggest orgies.
