Marama Fox voted off Dancing with the Stars NZ after first dance-off

  • 28/05/2018

Marama Fox is the fourth contestant to have been eliminated from Dancing With The Stars NZ, following the competition's first elimination dance-off.

The Māori Party co-leader was the latest contestant to be eliminated, after Real Housewives of Auckland star Gilda Kirkpatrick and The Bachelor NZ stars Zac Franich and Naz Khanjani.

The pair had a dance-off with the other couple left in the competition, which included former Black Cap Chris Harris, but their performance simply wasn't enough to save them.

All three of the judges expressed surprise that the couples were in the bottom two.

Turning to partner Brad when her elimination was announced, Ms Fox expressed gratitude for his work with her.

"I'm so proud of Brad and the patience he had to work with me - well done," she said.

Viewers can help keep their favourite dancer in the competition by texting their first name to 3333 - each text costs 99c and net proceeds go to that star's chosen charity.

DWTS NZ airs Sundays 7pm and Mondays 7.30pm on Three, and all episodes can be viewed again on ThreeNow.
