Consumer confidence is still strong, except when it comes to younger people.

The latest ANZ - Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence survey shows a net 29 percent of people expect to be better off in a year's time.

Job ads are increasing and employers are seeking more skilled staff.

House prices are helping many people feel more confident.

But confidence is weaker in Auckland and among people aged 25-34. This suggests they are feeling locked out of the property boom.
