A "slightly used" coffin was advertised for sale last week for the bargain price of USD$50 (NZD $72).
The casket was listed on Facebook with a call out for "serious buyers only".
"Slightly used, been down once for 3 years, just pulled back up because we decided to go a different route," the post read.
The seller even attached photos of the coffin, stained lining and all.
The ad was posted to a New Mexico based buy-and-sell Facebook page.
However, it was revealed to be a prank, according to local media.
The person who posted the ad said they wanted to see what kind of reaction the post would get.
