Car ploughs into house during police pursuit

A west Auckland family is in shock after a car plunged into their home during a police chase last night.

The Holden Commodore smashed through a fence, a bush and into the living room of their house in Henderson.

Angela Mcleod was home with her son and baby daughter at the time.

"Everything in the house has been smashed and fallen down. [There are] broken ornament that are sentimental that we can't replace. They're gone."

It is understood the car was stolen and the driver is being spoken to by police.

On the other side of a town, a driver is in a serious condition after a car collided with a bus in Beach Haven.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Beach Haven RD and Birkdale Rd last night.

The driver had to be cut free from the mangled car and three others suffered minor injuries.
