A car crashed into a truck in Auckland this morning, leaving one person dead and another injured.
The crash occurred around 7.30am on state highway 16 in Woodhill, where emergency services and police serious crash staff were called to the scene.
Debris caused traffic to queue, and the road is now closed between Bradley Rd and Wharepapa Rd in Helensville.
The road isn't expected to re-open until this afternoon, New Zealand Herald reports.
Alternative routes have been advised by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA):
Heading North – Right into Kiwitahi Rd, left into Wishart Rd on to Garifeild Rd and right back on to SH16
Heading South – Left into Puriri Rd, tight into Garfield Rd, on to Wishart Rd then Old North Rd, right into Taylor Rd, right into Waikoukou Valley Rd on to Waimauku Station Rd, left into Factory Rd and left back on to SH16.
