Fire crews from around the Kapiti Coast have converged on a large fire at a cafe near Otaki.
The Red House Cafe in Te Horo on State Highway 1 was "well alight" when emergency services were called to the scene just after 5pm today.
The fire has gone to third alarm, with crews from Waikanae, Otaki and Paraparaumu are currently at the scene.
Photos from the scene show a large plume of smoke coming from the building.
