Two teenage girls have been kidnapped from Auckland's Queen St before being dumped in a suburb after a seven-kilometre drive.
The pair, aged 18 and 19, had been drinking at a central city bar before two men shoved them into the back of a car about 3:50am today.
Their mouths were covered when they tried to scream, a police spokeswoman said.
The pair were pushed out of the car when it reached Green Ln West, Greenlane, at the intersection of St Andrews.
Senior Sergeant Christene Foote says police are investigating.
"Police inquiries are continuing in trying to canvas CCTV footage in both areas and speaking with the girls today," she says.
"We are appealing for anybody that may have seen something on either of these intersections."
The men did not make any demands or assault the girls, who were nevertheless left traumatised.
The two men were described as being of Maori descent and in their mid-20s.
