A tip about a number of secret drug labs have led to police shutting down roads in Wellington's CBD.
But none were found.
Roads were closed through central Wellington early this morning as police executed search warrants to find clandestine meth labs based on a tip.
Detective Senior Sergeant Pete Mallon said there was no risk to the public on this occasion.
"We will continue to take active action to try and reduce risk to the public from potential risks that these labs pose," he said in a statement.
The public have been urged to notify police if they suspect they have found a lab.
Police said the indicators of a meth lab are; strange chemical smells and vapour escaping from windows or ventilators, sealed windows and unusual activity.
