Two men have been charged after a group of people in an Otago shearers shed were attacked and threatened with death.
Initial calls reported a murder had taken place at the Milton property in the early hours of this morning, prompting armed police from three different towns to respond, along with a dog squad as well as an ambulance being put on stand-by.
However, police arrived to find no one had been seriously injured after two men allegedly assaulted them with knives and a baseball bat.
A car parked near the shed was also damaged, while a number of windows were smashed.
A 31-year-old man was arrested soon after, while the second man, a 29-year-old, was caught later this afternoon.
The duo have been charged with threatening to kill and assault charges, but police say it's possible more charges will be laid.
They will appear in Dunedin District Court tomorrow.
