Two women have been taken to hospital, one in a critical condition after they were rescued from a burning house in Christchurch.
Emergency services went to the house fire this afternoon, with firefighters rescuing one woman in her 40s on arrival.
She was taken to Christchurch Hospital by ambulance with serious burns while another woman in her 20s has suffered minor injuries.
Two fire trucks remain at the Aldwin Road property to extinguish the fire.
An investigation is under way to discover the cause of the blaze.
